Wayfaring Stranger (traditional) is an old spiritual from southern USA. The tune has a very basic structure with only a fistful of notes. Musicians would describe the melody as using the 5 notes of the minor pentatonic scale. Sometimes, good things come in small packages.
It may be of interest to guitarists to mention that I used a glass slide on both steel-strung and nylon-strung guitars for variation of tone.

Wayfaring Stranger has a timeless quality with a strong emotional undercurrent. Americana, circa late 19th century.
